Former Indonesian President KH Abdurahman Wahid, more intimately addressed to as Gus Dur, is scheduled for undergoing a dialysis at Cipto Mangunkusumo general hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta upon arrival back in Jakarta Friday.

His personal adjutant Bambang Susanto when asked to confirm Friday said that Gus Dur was already in a better condition, and would soon regularly undergo a dialysis at RSCM.<>

"He will under a regular dialysis on every Friday, but this has nothing to do with his admittance to the Jombang hospital Thursday night," he said as quoted by Antara news agency.

Gus Dur was admitted to the hospital in Jombang regency, East Java, after paying homage to the tomb of KH Bisri Syamsuri, and visiting several Islamic boarding schools in Jombang later.

Tambak Beras Islamic Boarding School Administrator in Jombang KH Fadlullah Malik who was also accompanying the ailing former president, said that Gus Dur was indeed in ill-health and his blood sugar had dropped.

He said that after paying homage to the founder of the Denanyar Islamic Boarding School, and one of the co-founders of the Nahdatul Ulama (NU) moslem organization, KH Bisri Syansuri, Gus Dur planned to go to the Tambak Beras Islamic boarding school.

But before paying homage to the tomb of Kiai Fatah, Gus Dur`s health condition deteriorated.

Since he left for Jombang, he said, Gus Dur`s health condition has already dropped. Even before he left Jakarta he was already admitted to a hospital. But later he suddenly asked to be brought to Rembang, Central Java, and Jombang. From Rembang he still did not show any worrisome signs," he said.

But, Fadlulah added, after visiting Tambak Beras Islamic boarding school, Gus Dur started to shiver all over. Eventually, we decided to take Gus Dur to the Jombang hospital. (dar)
