An Indonesian hajj pilgrimage supervisory team has found that a total of 78 Indonesian hajj pilgrims in Mecca were suffering from mental stress, a member of the team said.
"Health care centers and reference hospitals in Indonesia should already have medical records of would-be hajj pilgrims so that their departure could be canceled if indications of their mental disorders are found," Ahmad Zainuddin, deputy chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VIII on religious affairs, said in a e-mail message to the press on Monday.

The hajj supervisory team which is composed of legislators, found weaknesses in the health control of would-be hajj pilgrims in Indonesia.
Ahmad Zainuddin said that besides weaknesses in the health care control, the problem of lodging and delays of flights had caused the pilgrims to suffer from mental stress.
Zainuddin and other legislators of Commission VIII who are grouped in the team observed the medical care center for Indonesian hajj pilgrims in Mecca.
The team found in the medical care center a total of 78 Indonesian hajj pilgrims who suffered from mental stress. Most of whom are women. (ant/dar)
