The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) for the coming period is expected to be capable of uniting NU followers (Nahdliyin) having so far involved in any dispute as a result of interest conflicts.
In addition, the leaders of the religious social organization are also expected to be capable of developing NU potentials having not been managed properly.<>
Chairwoman of the Advisory Council of Muslimat NU Hj. Asmah Sjachruni made the remarks on the sidelines of a gathering to commemorate the 40th day of death of HM. Said Budairy at the Baitul Ilmi Mosque, Jln. Gatot Subroto, Jakarta over the weekend.
"I want NU followers, wherever they are, to return to NU. I want NU to unite again," she said, adding that there would be no any meaning to have a luxurious office if its men could no longer pay attention to one another.
Asmah said the big number of NU followers should be considered as potential which is in need of attention and touching from all parties of the NU circles.
"The big number of NU followers should be potential, or at least a challenge to work harder, instead of being an obstacle," the ex-general chairwoman of Muslimat NU said.
Respecting the death of Said Budairy, NU called on NU young generation to perpetuate his works by writing and continuing his good track records especially in dealing with journalism.
Present also at the gathering were former minister of religious affairs Maftuh Masyuni, deputy chairman of the House of Consultative Assembly Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, rector of the National University Umar Basalim, ex-chairman of NU Students Association Asnawi Latif and ex-chairman of Ansor Youth Movement Slamet Effendy Yusuf.
