Malaysia's efficient management of its haj pilgrims has won praise from the Grand Imam of Masjidil Haram in Mecca.

Sheikh Dr Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz As-Sudais said the country's preparatory programme for would-be-pilgrims should be emulated by Muslim communities in other countries.&l<>t;br />
He told reporters this after delivering a public lecture on "The Future of Islamic Civilisation in the 21st Century" here Wednesday.

Speaking through an interpreter, Sheikh Abdul Rahman also conveyed greetings from Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and the Saudi people, to the leaders of Malaysia and its people.

He said the two countries should work together to spread the message of Islam to the world.

"Muslims should also portray a good image of Islam in their daily routine," he added as quoted by Malaysia's Bernama news agency.
