Member of the Supreme Council of Nahdlatul Ulama, KH Ma'ruf Amin (Kiai Ma'ruf), revealed the use of any styles to read Quran does not matter as long as the recitation (tajweed) is right. The Qur'an does not regulate the melodies used, but only set tajweed and emission points of the letters (makhārij al-ḥurūf).<>
Kiai Ma'ruf who is also Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) said that "We're from the MUI does not make any statement. But personally, I look at the way to read it correctly, I think personally there is no problem if it is only a matter of the song," Kiai Ma'ruf Amin told ROL on Tuesday (19/5).
He added, when the reading is correct it means the tajweed is right, the makhraj is right, and no sounds of letters that change that could make sense to be different.
"If there are the wrong in tajweed, then the mistakes not on its style, but on reading it," Kiai Ma'ruf explained.
He continued, anyone, any melody, if tajweed was wrong, its provisions must not be read it. Because the importance that on the entire reading, the grammar rules have to be correct.
Pros and cons of the use of Java style in reading the Quran emerged since the event of Isra 'Mi'raj at the State Palace on Friday (15/5). Some experts and scholars criticized the use of the Java style, but others allow it as long as did not violate the rules for recitation. (masdar)
