Efforts to deal with the radical teachings should start from childhood to adulthood. In this case, the role of parents or family will determine their children related to the influence of the radical teachings.
Chairman of the Jombang chapter of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), KH Isrofil Amar told NU Online here on Thursday (15/9).
According to him, through parent and family education, those posing the radical viruses resulting in a possible split of national solidarity will be easily tackled.
"Actually, the most powerful and influential media (in dealing with the radical teachings) is through family-based informal education," he said.
However, Kiai Isrofil said that lately there had been very few parents who could care for their children. In fact, sometimes their children could follow the teachings that endanger to themselves and their parents did not know anything.
"Now that many parents do not pay more attention to their children," he added.
To that end, the lecturer at Unipdu (Darul Ulum High Pesantren University), Peterongan, appealed to parents not forget their duty to provide education and a good future for their children.
He also called for all teachers to be aware of the spread of radical teachings in schools.
"The teachers are also very influential on the prevention of radicalism, especially to their students," he said. (Syamsul Arifn / Masdar)
