Corruption remains uncontrollable

Floods striking the entire country has stripped the guise of crime, namely corruption. In fact, river's dikes, roads and absorption areas are built under quality standards due to their funds have been grafted by organizing developers. Once the river water overflows the dike breaks down, absorption areas are absent so the water inundates roads. Tens of kilometers of the frail roads would get peeled off and be full of holes and even some bridges collapse. Everything is now in need of improvement in addressing  sustainability of social economic demands. 

Amid the voice of people speaking more about corruption in constructing public infrastructures, it was suddenly shocked by the bribery of a grafter to a prosecutor handling specially graft cases amounted to hundreds of quintillion of the state's money from the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI). Formerly the National Banking Restructuring Agency (BPPN) set up to deal with the corruption of the state's money has also constantly been controlled by grafters. In turn, the agency has come to the end and its grafters could easily be free. Even Bank Indonesia having mandate form the state with its rocketing salary has also been controlled by those who like grafting so many cases must appear before the court.<>

At the same time both attorney and judge have also been bribed by conglomerates to escape from their graft cases. The conglomerates having so far been pride of themselves in giving job opportunities have just exploited the state's money. As a result the scene has caused developments collapse and made people live in sufferings for their facilities have been stolen by the conglomerates and officials.

Till now we have still witnessed millions of people experiencing a lack of food, unable to have treatment and dropping out. While others can live in luxurious and glamor life. Their existence has made life more expensive so it can not address poor people. The sharp gap has not increasingly been bridged. There are some working day and night with limited food supply on one hand and there are some earning mounting salary without lifting a finger on the other.

While recently many people have had no awareness of duty but a very sensitive one to their rights leading to uncontrollable egoism and desire leading to greed. It is then propagated by capitalism system as the only way to deal with production and at the same time industrial sectors tend to develop to address people's unlimited appetite and desire.  

The greed of human is unlimited while their financial capacity is limited. Thus to overcome the lack of financial many people have most of the time exploited and involved in graft cases. Here is the axis of any problem, namely greed. If anti-corruption movements do not touch it the movements would of course be meaningless. As evident many anti-corruption movements have so far been set up by both government and people but in fact we have still witnessed mounting graft cases conducted transparently. 

The handling of any graft case is not such a technique on how the graft case is handled administratively. Rather it is in need of moral and political mature. The handling through the moral calling for the importance of living modestly has never be conducted. Political movements to handle the graft cases have also never been maximized and even the movements have been used to be such vehicle or corps. In short the handling of any graft case is just a political maneuver not a really concrete action.

If the graft cases are not not immediately handled both morally and politically the country of ours would be in destruction. The scene can at least be indicated the destruction of forests, roads, and bridges. The irresponsible corruptions can also be seen with the destruction of environment, absorption and green areas. And the most vulnerable is people's economic condition caused by corruption. Even the state's enterprises that should serve people have ignored their duties due to their status as business enterprises with their own reasons seeking only profit. They have paid no attention to social condition for funds that should be given to people have been corrupted. 

They have involved in corruption because they feel life demands have constantly rocketed while at the same time they can no longer control their both desire and ambition. Besides, the price of products and services has gone up. For that reason they need more money so the graft cases can never be stopped.

Unfortunately religious approaches have so far paid more attention to both technique and morality instead of ethic that is by calling for the importance of living modestly. In turn they would be aware not to ambitiously get money on account of ethical considerations. Working hard and honesty must be regarded as such principles in life. They can in turn finance their life from their own work without violating other people's rights so their existence is not a burden for other people and state.
 
With the absence of any corruption, life would be in prosperity, public facilities and prosperous social would be in the right track. Both the government and state would also advance and be dignified nation. (Abdul Mun’im DZ)
