World Mufti to call on Muslims to help free Palestine from Israel

A number of ulema (Muslim scholars) and mufti (Islamic jurists)  from around the world participating in the NU 32nd congress  called on all Muslims to help free Palestine from Israel.

Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH  Said Aqil Siradj, popularly known as Kang Said, made the  remarks as moderating a dialogue held at the Makassar's Sahid  Hotel here Monday.<<>br />
In the dialogue between NU and the world ulema, deputy mufti of  Egypt Dr Amir Musthofa Hasannein Refaie al Wardani said that  all Muslims around the world should take a stand in helping  Palestinians having so far handcuffed by Israel.

He expected all Muslim groups in Palestine to unite for  considering that the Palestinian independence would not be  reached without the unity among the Muslim groups.

"Peace is better. Israel will leave (from Palestine) if we unite,"  Amir Musthofa said.

Responding to the Indonesia's Palestinian ambassador Fariz Al  Mehdawi in terms of the Palestine problem, Kang Said said that  it was the problem of entire Muslims around the world.

"We all are of view that the Palestine problem is not merely a   Palestine problem nor the Arab one. Rather, it is the problem of  all Muslims in the world," Kang Said said.

Meanwhile, deputy of Rabithah Alam Islami of Saudi Arabia  Abdurrahman bin Abdullah Azaid expected the dialogue ahead  the NU 32 congress to purposefully be able to yield various  cooperatIons among the Muslim elements around the world  especially among their young generations.

There are at least 30 mufti and ulema from around the world  participatingin in the Makassar's congress. (nam)
