Indonesia's ambassador to Qatar, HM Rozy Munir, has expressed his willingness to immediately establish a special branch board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCI NU) in Qatar.

"It is really favorable to establish PCI NU in there," he told repoprters here on Sunday, adding that there were a large number of Nahdliyin (NU followers) living in the Muslim country.<>

Former chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) for foreign affairs said that Qatar's Indonesian embassy would facilitate the PCI NU establishment.

He was of view, the first and the foremost thing that should be taken into account of the purposeful establishment was not but the initiatives of the Nahdliyin themselves and the clarity of both vision and mission.

"Both vision and mission should be clear. The proposal should also be made as good as possible. If it is not (clear), do not come to me," the former Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) said.

He said he would also introduce what called as International Conference of Islamic Scholars (ICIS) initiated by the Indonesia's biggest Muslim organization to Qatar people.

He stressed the importance of the ICIS "campain" abroad was aimed at speading and seeding typically Indonesia's moderate Islamic views.

Munir said, the difference of ethnic and faith was not a problem within a social interaction. "That's why I would slowly introduce the ICIS."

Nahdlatul Ulama special branch boards have already been established in many countries such as the United States, Germany, UK, Australia-New Zeland, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Syiria, Sudan and so on. (rif)
