Police name Ahmadiyah follower suspect

The National Police have named Ahmadiyah follower M. Nur Yam, 35, of Ciampea, Bogor, West Java, a suspect in connection with an attack on the Islamic sect on Friday night.

“Nur admitted to stabbing Randy, 15, with a kitchen knife,” spokesman Insp. Gen. Iskandar Hasan said Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.<<>;br />
Iskandar said that the incident triggered the attack on Ahmadiyah followers in Ciampea village.

On Friday night, hundreds of people set fire to a mosque, dozens of houses and vehicles belonging to the Islamic sect members. (dar)
