Nicaraguan president visits Venezuela

Nicraguan President Daniel Ortega arrived in this capital Sunday, in a visit of solidarity with Venezuela.

Oterga is supporting the decision of the Venezuelan government to stop renovating the concession to transmit to private channel Radio Caracas Television (RCTV) which caused a ferocious international media campaign against the Venezuelan government.<>

The announcement of this visit was made by his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez, in a great popular demonstration supporting that government´s decision.

Chavez informed on the solidarity of different countries and governments reflected in messages from Heads of State such as Fidel Castro (Cuba), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Luiz Inacio da Silva (Brazil), and Alvaro Uribe (Colombia).

After his stay in Caracas the Nicaraguan President will start a tour on Lybia, Algeria, Iran and Italy, as told by Nicaraguan Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Santos. (pl/dar)
