Madurese Nahdliyin in Malaysia to establish village level NU board

Madurese NU followers (Nahdliyin) living in Malaysia has initiative to establish village level NU board around Kuala Lumpur exactly in Segambut Dalam (Kuala Lumpur) and Kayu Ara Damansara (Selangor).

The purposeful initiative was following the visit of Bangkalan NU Branch Board R KH Fakhrillah As-Schal and his entourage to the office of Malaysia's NU Special branch Board (PCINU) in Kuala Lumpur on 31st May. During the visit there were also some appointed as committeemen of the establishment.<>

The Segambut Dalam NU board located not far from the PCINU's office was established on 11 June 2008. Munir bin Mulot was mandated to be Rais Syuriyah (Legislative Council) and Nuruddin bin Sulam as chairman of Tanfidziyah (Executive Council) of the new NU board.

While Kayu Ara Damansara's NU board was set up on 13 June 2008. Muhammad Thomirin was appointed to be Rais Syuriah and Muhammad Roji as chairman of Tanfidziyah. Both Segambut Dalam and Kayu Ara Damansara were recorded as the fourth and the fifth within the Malaysia's PCINU.

Those involving themselves in the establsihment were top officials of Malaysia's PCINU such as Ahmad Muidi Rofii (chairman Tanfidziyah), Ihyaul Lazib, Anan Rasyidi, Muhammad Rasul, Aliyah and De Sastra.

Rofii as quoted by NU Online's Helmy Muhammad on Tuesday (17/6) said that Madurese people having been living in both Segambut Dalam and Kayu Ara Damansara were so enthusiastic about the prospective establishment. (rif)
