In its nearly 57 years old, NU young cadres grouped under the NU Students Association (IPNU) must be committed to maintaining long-standing tradition having so far been preserved by ancient ulema (Islamic scholars).

Chairman of the Jepara's IPNU Muhammad Muftil Umam made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recently.r />
"NU cadres should always defend ancient ulema tradition," he told NU Online, saying that all this was aimed at again preventing the tradition from any possible attempt willing to threaten its continuation.

As for him, for any reason, the organization established on 24 February 1954 in Semarang had such prophetic missions as keeping tradition from any threat possibly posed by other groups.

Such tradition as reciting tahlil, shalawat, manaqib, visiting cemeteries should be both maintained and preserved. "Never put aside such tradition." (qim)
