Again, Indian government through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi has now offered scholarships for NU cadres willing to sudy in the country, secretary-general of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Endang Turmudi told NU Online here on Monday.
The scholarships for the academic year 2010-2011 are at the Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate and Doctoral levels and cover such subjects as arts, architecture, literature, commerce, and science. Degree courses in engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture and doctoral and post-doctoral courses in various disciplines can also be pursued.<>
There have been some 304 state and private universities in the Mahatma Gandhi's country involving in the purposeful program.
The government of India will provide a living allowance and contingent grant, accommodation, tuition fee and other benefits, including medical and study tour expenses to the students (but not air passages to India and back nor laboratory expenses and related incidentals for science stream students).
General instructions to applicants are at least they should clearly mention the course and University to which he/she seeking admission; certified copies of all documents should be accompanied with English translations.
The medium of instruction in English and applications from only those candidates who have a reasonable good command over spoken and written English may be forwarded.
The application forms may be filled in as per the guidelines enclosed and forwarded to the Indian Embassy at Jl. HR Rasuna Said, Kav. S1, Kuningan, Jakarta, latest by Tuesday, 22 January 2010. While the Embassy will conduct an English language test 5th of February 2010 for those who have been short listed from among all applicants following their documents.
