Times have changed and are constantly moving. The way of preaching has also changed. The way people seek information has also changed. If in the past they were willing to walk for days to a religious gathering delivered by famous preachers, now they don't have to bother.

General Chairman of Jam'iyyah Ruqyah Aswaja (JRA) KH Abdul Wahab said, since the rise of social media, he has taken advantage of the platform. When the pandemic broke out, the digital preaching (da'wah) became a solution.

“Moreover, the choice of media to be a means of spreading goodness is increasingly diverse. By simply using a smartphone, someone will get the desired model of religious gatherings," he said.

“The sophistication of information technology has changed the way people to gain insight, including understanding in the field of religion. From those that are not paid or free, such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, to those that are paid via Zoom, Google Meet, or other video conference platforms," Gus Wahab added.

According to the leader of Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School (pesantren), Keringan, Nganjuk, each platform has its own audience. Therefore, he would be committed to enlivening preaching in the digital world.

"JRA, which is the preaching wing of the Nahdlatul Ulama Preaching Institution  (LD PBNU) is now working with TVNU by filling out its programs. JRA is mandated to fill one of the programs on TVNU every Friday at 08.00-09.00 am," Gus Wahab wrote on his Facebook page, Saturday (11/9/2021).

Furthermore, Gus Wahab asked for prayers for the digital preaching to run smoothly. "Please pray for the blessing of my friends, hopefully in the future it will bring benefits by further grounding the Qur'an as a syifa' while remaining in line with the rhythm of the NU clerics (kiai)," he explained.

TVNU is Nahdlatul Ulama Television which was originally named 164 Channel Nahdlatul Ulama and has been coloring digital preaching through YouTube since about four years ago. TVNU was launched by KH Said Aqil Siroj during the peak commemoration of Nahdlatul Ulama's 98th Anniversary (27/2/2021).

TVNU, is expected to make a better contribution than what was previously done. In addition, the presence of TVNU is to further fill the empty space of audio-visual preaching through YouTube.
