President-elect Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he wanted a strong commitment and integrity of next cabinet`s ministers who were bound with an integrity pact and a political contract.
The president made the remarks at a fast-breaking dinner with the Democrat Party cadres at his Cikeas (Bogor, West Java) residence on Saturday, September 5.<>
"In concrete term, we will arrange a rule of the game. We have the experience in the past five years where there were rules of the game which did not work. So, there were problems which should have not occurred," the president said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that the next work contracts should also be sharper so that (ministers) would be responsible well. I will also arrange an integrity pact between the head of government and the cabinet members.
Regarding the names of would-be members of next cabinet, Yudhoyono said it was not yet the time to reveal it. The names of would-be ministers would be announced after October 1, 2009.
"At the current stage, the Indonesia United Cabinet still has to carry out its tasks until October 20, 2009. The cabinet now is still trying to accomplish its tasks and I ask them to finish the task and report it on October 1, 2009. About whether some of the ministers would become members of the House of Representatives (DPR) or become next cabinet members will be decided later," he said.
The fast-breaking function which was held at Yudhoyono`s private residence was attended by all executives of the Democrat Party, among others, General Chairman Hadi Utomo, Jero Wacik, Hayono Isman, Anas Urbaningrum and others.
Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who wore a blue batik shirt was accompanied by Mrs Ani Yudhoyono. Also present on the occasion were members of Democrat Party`s wing organizations, campaign team members and Vice President-elect Boediono. (dar)
