Jakarta, NU Online
Through outstanding achievements in the fields of Information technology, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and Islamic educational institutions (madrasa) are now trying to tap into them in addressing their organization management. Following yellow book software going on public, the religious institutions are now too inclined to seize on school administration programs.
The programs licensed by the GNU/GPL can be accessed in www.pesantrenvirtual.com and www.santri.org. Muhammad Niam, the man responsible for the pesantrenvirtual website told NU Online to be expectedly able to cooperate with Ma’arif educational institution of Nahdlatul Ulama (LP Ma’arif NU) to socialize the purposeful programs to pesantrens and madrasas. He explained it would expectedly be a means to give such training being always conducted by the LP Ma’arif.
<>“My purpose of releasing the program is not only to facilitate the school management or pesantren’s, but also to call on circles of Nahdlatul Ulama educational institutions to jointly enhance better worldview of information technology for nahdliyin (NU followers),” he said. The Chairman of Pakistan’s NU advisory council cited that the IT has now become inevitable necessity in the modern era. So it’s a favorable time for educational circles especially NU to again start implementing the IT-based school administration.
The prospective programs consist of row upon row of databases for student list, teacher, class, tuition, finance, school budget, school activity, calendar, and so on. All of the educational levels can use all of the devises.
