Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Said Aqil "Kang Said" Siradj expressed his disappointment over the absence of H Mahrus Ali at an open debate facilitated by Sunan Ampel High Institute of Islamic Studies Surabaya on Wednesday (12/3).

Kang Said said that Mahrus Ali had such narrow thinking for he had no courage to be responsible for his deviant childish book entitled "Ex-NU Cleric Calls both Shalawat and Dzikir Syirik".&<>lt;br />
"He has small-minded thinking because he has no courage to be responsible for his arguments in his book," Kang Said told NU Online at the PBNU's headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday (13/3).

According to Kang Said whoever convincingly and firmly holding a truth, he must be courageous in facing whatever debate model.

"He should ideally have the courage to be responsible for (his book)," Kang Said said, adding that Mahrus Ali was a coward after escaping from the much-awaited open debate.

In the meantime Kang Said also expressed his great appreciation to the Problems Deliberation Committee (LBM) of Jember's NU Branch Board in stripping Mahrus Ali's arguments through its book titled "The Lies of the Book: Ex-NU Cleric Calls both Shalawat and Dzikir Syirik". (sbh)
