Hasyim calls on NU followers to keep on guard against new ideology

General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama called on all boards of the country's largest Muslim organization, starting from Sub Branch Representative Council to Central to keep on guard against any interference of especially new Islamic ideologies whose no basic foundation to be opposed to the NU.
Hasyim made the remarks at a meeting of Sub Branch Representative Council Board across Madiun residency in Asrama Haji, Ring Road on Sunday (22/7).<>
The caretaker of the Al Hikam Islamic boarding "Pesantren" School, Malang, East Java, asserted that NU followers (nahdliyin) should be able to take such measures to open-mindedly face any problems without engaging in violent acts.
"The interference facing NU is now rooting from different ideologies ," Hasyim said, adding that the interference could divide NU internal circles and trigger social conflict.
"For thar reason, the NU circles should be fully given with the understanding to be in turn delivered to NU followers," he added.
He suggested that the predecessors of the NU had so far given worthy teachings to NU followers in taking fully firm measures without being emotional.
Hasyim also said that many Islamic ideologies that were inappropriate with the Prophet's teachings had now taken a stand against the NU "Aswaja" principles by at least "seizing" praying "musholla" places and mosques.
"In responding to the case, let us improve and organize our selves. We (PBNU) have already published books about Aswaja," Hasyim was quoted by gp-ansor.org.
Present also at the occasion were Chairman of East Java NU law making body KH Masduqi, Vice Chairman KH Miftahul Ahkhyar, Chairman of East Java NU KH Ali Maschan Moesa, the Deputy Regent of madiun H Muhtarom and the Regent of Ponorogo H Muhadi Suyono. (dar)
