The Venezuelan State has the obligation of building a socialist economic model, President Hugo Chavez affirmed during the creation of the Central Planning Commission.
When commenting on details of proposals to the Constitutional Reform text to be submitted to the National Assembly, the president pointed out that transformation will be based on humanistic cooperation.<>
Such a project will put common interests over private ones, prioritizing the fulfilment of social needs, he reiterated.
The State will develop different forms of enterprises and economic units of property, production, and social distribution, he said.
Chavez noted that private property, productive and in function of the fulfilment of the country s needs, will coexist within the socialist project, depending on the behaviour of economic private sectors, he stressed.
"We have to transform capitalist relations of property, production, distribution, and consumption still prevailing in the Venezuelan society into socialist-oriented ones," he said. (pl/dar)
