PCNU Nganjuk raises funds for Lombok earthquake victims

Nahdliyin (NU memebers) in Nganjuk Est Java were deeply concerned over the  6.9-magnitude earthquake striking the Lombok island recently and could raise funds for quake victims amounted to Rp.214 million.

The assistance was collected through the so-called Lembaga Amil Zakat Infaq dan Sedakah of Nahdlatul Ulama (LAZISNU) Nganjuk. The assistance was from the  Deputy Branch Councils (MWC) of NU in Nganjuk, NU board members at the village level, institutions, autonomous bodies and so on.

"Funds for Lombok collected Rp.214 million, these funds mainly come from the structural lines of NU Nganjuk, such as MWC, LP Ma'arif, IPNU-IPPNU, LAZISNU at the sub-district level, and donors," Director of LAZISNU Nganjuk, Subhan Aburizal, said here on Tuesday (11 / 9).

The funds were immediately handed over to earthquake victims in NTB by being delivered directly to the disaster location. In addition to cash assistance, LAZISNU Nganjuk also provided medicine assistance and trauma Healling activities.

"We have left for Lombok to deliver assistance from the community. Hopefully LAZISNU will continue to be trusted by the public," he added.

Meanwhile, chairman of lawmaking body of NU Nganjuk (PCNU) KH Ali Musthofa Said appreciated the number of community contributions to the Lombok earthquake victims.

"The amount of funds raised shows the extraordinary compactness and strength of the nahdliyin in Nganjuk, this is the mandate of the people that must be conveyed," he said.

PCNU Nganjuk formed a special team to channel Lombok earthquake funds. The team was sent in stages to the disaster location. The first assistance was distributed on August 11, 2018, in the form of medicines and funds.

"There are still volunteers that we have sent there. A few days later we will again send aid to Lombok. We will continue to distribute this aid for the next three months," he said.

Among the assistance coming from MWC elements were MWC Baron Rp.8.6 million, Rejoso Rp.26.9 million, Kertosono Rp.10.5 million, Loceret Rp.8.2 million, Ngronggot Rp.10.1 million and Gondang Rp8, 4 million, Patianrowo Rp 2 million, Prambon Rp 56 million, Tanjunganom Rp 19 million, Ngluyu Rp 3.5 million, Nganjuk City Rp 3 million, Sawahan Rp 3.3 million, Wilangan Rp 900, Bagor Rp 4.7 million, Berbek Rp 2 million Sukomoro Rp.4.7 million, Pace Rp.3.1 million and Jatikalen Rp1 million.
