Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad's next visit to Venezuela is part of a national cooperation process currently in progress, and according to local media it could entail $20 billion.
The Iranian president's fourth visit to Venezuela was announced by President Hugo Chavez in the framework of a national petrochemical revolution.<>
"We are going to require international alliances, with Iran, Brazil, and Russia, to attract investors and technology," said the Venezuelan head of State in his Alo Presidente radio and television show on Sunday, when he announced Ahmadinejad's visit.
The petrochemical project covers 87 plans in the sector, 35 of raw material and 52 plastic-producing industries, fertilizers, cosmetics, and other products.
Chavez, who has also traveled to Iran three times since his first term of office in 1999, said Ahmadinejad will arrive in Venezuela after participating in the UN General Assembly.
Both countries agreed in early 2007 integration of a $2 billion investment fund, equally contributed, as part of their increasing economic relations. (pl/dar)
