Nation Awakening Party (PKB) central executive board head Abdul Malik Haramain said he was confident that two ministers from the PKB would not be replaced following President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s announcement that he would reshuffle the Cabinet before October 20 this year.
“We have enough confidence that our ministers have given their best performances so far. Besides, we received no notification from the President to prepare another cadre to fill the positions,” Haramain said on Friday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Two ministers -- Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar and Disadvantaged Regions Minister Helmy Faisal Zaini -- currently represent the party in the Cabinet. However, Muhaimin has come under fire after Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators spotted a graft allegation involving his top officials.
Many activists suggested that SBY replace Muhaimin, since he was considered to have failed to protect Indonesian workers abroad. (jp/dar)
