HE Munir said that about 210,000 Indonesian pilgrims were performing Hajj this year.

The number constituted 7.5 percent of the total number of pilgrims coming from across the world.

He said that the number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims was likely to increase next year.

He urged the Indonesian expatriates residing here to find time to perform the important ritual since Saudi Arabia was not very far from Doha.

The Indonesian envoy also encouraged the devotees to willingly make sacrifices and sincerely uphold the social and religious bond among them.

The Idul Adha prayer commenced at the Language Institute grounds.

The prayer was led by Ustadz Fuady, a member of Indonesian community in Dukhan.

Talking to Qatar Tribune, HE Munir thanked the Qatari government and the management of Language Institute for allowing them again to use the vicinity for the important gathering.

Idul Fitri and Idul Adha prayers of the Indonesian community have had been organised at the same venue for the last several years because of its proximity to the embassy.
