Chairman of lawmaking body of the East Java NU Regional Board (PWNU) KH Miftachul Achyar said that government along with its all bureaucrats not to intervene in NU affairs. Even beaurocrats and government officials who are from NU should not have  double positions as NU leaders or its autonomous bodies.

"I do agree if beaurocrats from NU not to have double positions to be NU leaders or its autonomous bodies. I hope the Makassar's NU 32nd Congress in the mid of March 2010 to take up this issue," Miftachul Akhyar said here on Thursday.<>

As for him, there had allegedly been big scenario designed to undermine the NU organization. All this could be seen from more intervention of the government in NU.

Miftachul Akhyar further explained that the East Java PWNU would propose the coming congress to discuss the double positions for NU leaders or its autonomous bodies.

In addition, he added, the PWNU would also propose the leaders of NU autonomous bodies to get recommendation and agreement from local NU boards. (min)
