The hajj quota for 2019 given to the Provincial Office of the Ministry of Religion in Papua is 1,080, including eight hajj officials, Antara news agency reported.
The Head of the Provincial Office, Rev. Amsal Yowei, said, "The 2019 national hajj quota is the same as that of 2018, which includes 221,000 pilgrims—204,000 under the regular hajj quota and 17,000 under the special quota."
According to Amsal, the pilgrims from all over Indonesia will depart from July 7 to August 5, 2019, according to the schedule of each flight group which is yet to be set up.
"Based on Law Number 13 of 2008, the pilgrims have the right to receive guidance, service and protection while performing the hajj," he said, adding, "The hajj pilgrims are also entitled to receive protection as Indonesian citizens, comfort during transportation and accommodation in Saudi Arabia and while returning to Indonesia," he said.
Amsal noted that those whose names are in the hajj waiting list should be patient as everything is being done according to regulations. (Masdar)
