As the Indonesia's biggest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) should stay committed to uphold the unity of the state's ideology Pancasila and the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). At this point, the role of Syuriah (Advisory Council) of the organization in such fields as structure, function and authority should be able to be played in controlling political and social wing.
Deputy chairman of the State Intelligence Agency As'ad Said Ali made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting to discuss a book entitled "Negara Pancasila; Jalan Keselamatan Berbangsa" at Al Mansur Islamic boarding school (Pesantren) Popongan, Tegagondo, Wonosari, Klaten, Central Java on Wednesday (10/6).<>

According to As'ad, the executive board members of Nahdlatul Ulama should address the need of the revitalization of functions and roles, adding that the revitalization was aimed at making the organization more flexible and able to be used by Nahdliyin (NU followers) for their self-actualization.
"The target is to make NU as a modern, flexible religious social organization and capable of used by its followers to their self actualization," the author of the Negara Pancasila: Jalan Keselamatan Berbangsa said.
The book launch would actually be attended by Rais Aam and general chairman of the Central Board of Nahldatul Ulama (PBNU) and Rais Aam of the Idaroh Aliyah Jam'iyyah Ahlit Thariqah Al Mu'tabaroh An Nahdliyyah, but till the launch was over they could not attend it.
