NU leader to attend Jambi’s seminar

Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama, H M Rozy Munir Thursday attended a seminar on education management held at the office of the Regional Planning and Development Body.

The NU leader for foreign affairs said the seminar was expected to be able at least introduce the concepts of education management for Islamic boarding “pesantren” schools throughout Jambi.

“Hopefully, this seminar would contribute to the pesantrens in the province (of Jambi) so that they can learn more about education management,” the former Minister of State-Owned Entreprises.

He also expressed his gratitude espacially to the Sarolangun administration for supporting the program aimed at developing the ideals of education management for pesantren.

While the organizing committee chief Abdul Qodir Jaelany said that he was really indebted to the all sides for supporting the purposeful program.

“We are really grateful for all sides having supported the seminar especailly our gratitude to his excellency H M Rozy Munir as the chairman of the country’s largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama,” Jaelany said.

According to Jaelany, the seminar was successfully conducted for the collaboration between the Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama and the Indonesia's British Council.

He also expected to all of those who had ever participated in a training on education management at Leeds University several months ago to be able to introduce the concepts of education management to pesantren circles

The seminar was also attended by the Regent of Sarolangun, Drs. H. Hasan Basri Agus, MM, Chairman of Jambi's NU, H. Abdul Qodir Husein, and and other prominent men of the nahdliyin-based organization. (dar)
