NU: Eradicate graft cases of law enforcers

Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Masdar F. Mas'udi said that what should now immediately be addressed was how to eradicate graft cases conducted by such law enforcers as lawyers, judges, and police because the eradication of such cases is the main promise of the reform.

"Just with law enforcers free from corruption, corruptions committed by other parties, including officials can be uncovered," Masdar said here on Wednesday.<>

According to Masdar, the failure of tackling corruption practices means the failure of the reform, saying that curruption was unforgivable crime. For that reason, he expected the government to take firmly measures in dealing with the corruption.

Masdar further explained that the corruption had give social impact on such a scale for making people sorrow. Moreover those committing corruption were officials which have been paid by people's money and sworn to uphold justice and give their best to the prosperity of people, he said.

"That's why it is necessary to prioritize prosperity and discipline guidance for law enforcers and followed by strict monitoring by all parties," he said. (min)
