Muslimat NU would set up representative board in Malaysia

The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama Women Organization (Muslimat) would reportedly set up a representative board in Malaysia. The purposeful idea would be discussed by both Muslimat and Malaysia's NU Special Branch Board at a meeting in Segambut on Wednesday (27/2).

While Chairwoman of the Muslimat NU Khofifah Indar Parawansa arrived in the Indonesia's neighboring country on Tuesday (26/2). Accompanied by some Muslimat members, Khofifah plane landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 14.00.<>

Those accompanying the former State Minister for Women Empowerment were Nafisah Sahal Mahfudz, Nur Dzazillah, Nurhayati Said Agil Siradj, Zulfa Nahdiana, Ulha Soraya, Noor Ritta R. Samadhi, Ida Hakim and Haritsah (both representing Muslimat of Central Java).

Arriving at the airport, they were welcomed by members of Malaysia's NU Board such as Abdul Rozak, Marhadi Marzuki, Hilmy Muhammad, Mimin Mintarsih and Aliyah De Sastra, Hartini Saidul (Chairman Batam's Muslimat), Siti Cholizah (Natuna), Nurita Aslinda and Nur Jihan (Singapura).

According to Nurhayati, many NU figures such as Rais Aam of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Sahal Mahfudz, KH Said Aqil Siradj (Chairman) KH Nur Iskandar SQ ( Caretaker of As-Shidiqiyah Islamic Boarding "Pesantren" School) have supported the prospective idea. (hil/nam)
