"Fatayat NU may not follow outside parties, but any possible program coming from outside should be in line with the purpose of Fatayat NU," Slamet said on the sidelines of an inauguration of the new board members of Fatayat NU here on Saturday (7/8).

The former chairman of Ansor Youth Movement, Fatayat NU was initially established for developing and empowering the potential of NU young women for the sake of NU, the nation and even humanity.

Slamet said that Indonesia "is the world's fourth most populous country" but in regard with the development of human resources and the improvement of quality of life, Indonesia ranked 107 among some 177 countries of the world.

"Without highly skillful human resources, Indonesia will not be capable of being a developed nation having the equal position with other countries," he said.

Slamet added that Fatayat NU in its all levels including in the grassroot had big potentials in helping deal with various problems because of its broad networks extending from Sabang to Merauke. (mkf)
