Gusdurian Peduli 9Gusdurian Cares) sent aid to health workers, funeral workers, and Covid-19 volunteers. The aid was in the form of a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) package consisting of cover all hazmat clothes, masks, boots, and immune packages such as milk, vitamins, and probiotics.

General Chairman of Gusdurian Peduli Gus A'ak Abdullah from Kudus said the aid was sent to several areas in East Java and Central Java such as Lumajang, Probolinggo, Mojokerto, Kediri, Klaten, Boyolali, Pati and Purwokerto regencies.

The assistance was entrusted by the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Business Economics, University of Indonesia (Iluni FEB UI) which was collected through fundraising at kitabisadotcom. The assistance was deliberately sent to the health workers and funeral workers as a very high form of appreciation for their services and resilience in the face of Covid-19.

"We purposely sent aid to health workers, funeral workers, and Covid-19 volunteers. This aid is a form of appreciation for their services so far because they have been at the forefront of handling the Covid-19 pandemic," Gus A'ak told NU Online here on Saturday (18/9/2021).

Gus A'ak emphasized that the health workers, funeral workers, and Covid-19 volunteers were very instrumental in helping the Indonesian people affected by the pandemic. In fact, they had done humanitarian work by risking safety and life, he said.

“Their service is extraordinary. They are at the forefront of saving others without worrying about their own safety. So we feel the need to send aid to them to at least help them reduce the risk or things that are not desirable," Gus A'ak said.

Because these health workers were fighting at the forefront of handling Covid-19, many of them eventually died. The Covid-19 Report Digital Center (www.laporcovid19.org) noted that until 19 September 2021 there were 2032 health workers who died as a result of fighting Covid-19.

Most of those who died were doctors as many as 730 people, 670 nurses, 388 midwives, and 48 pharmacists. Then followed by medical laboratory technology experts (47), radiology records officers (10), sanitarian officers (5), ambulance officers and dental therapists (4), pharmaceutical and electromedical personnel (3), epidemiologists (2), health entomologists and medical physicists. (1), as well as 70 other health workers.
